Until finally, the artist started an online class that gave everyone the knowledge, inspiration and guidance to begin their lifelong dream of building their own wooden boats.

And it was called Boat Building Bootcamp.

What is Boat Building Bootcamp?

Over a year ago boat builder and sculptor, Bob Emser, began an online boat building course and weekly coaching clinic. After interviewing over 50 boat builders, Bob designed a course to take a boat builder from a dream to the reality of building the boat of their dreams.

We begin with learning the terminology specific to boat building. You will also become familiar with different types of boats and which ones are suitable for your level of skill.
Reading Boat Plans

You will learn how to read boat plans and about different construction techniques. Resulting in choosing the boat you will build. Once you've received your plans you will learn to loft them to full size.
Start Building a Boat

After becoming familiar with your boat you'll learn about lumber and fastening choices. Design your work space and begin your boat building journey.

Bob Emser is a Boat Builder and Artist. His popular channel “The Art of Boat Building” can be seen on YouTube. Emser has an international reputation as a sculptor, having shown on 5 continents, 8 countries and 27 states in the U.S. His extensive body of work, dating back to 1978, can be seen in cities and municipalities, sculpture parks, museums and institutions of higher learning. During his 40+ year career he has served as a visiting artist and has taught at several universities, held a tenured professorship. Bob spends his full time efforts building wooden boats and creating educational videos and teaching about building wooden boatbuilding online.
